Q6. How many persons are there in the Godhead?
There are three persons in the Godhead: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are one God, the same in nature, equal in power and glory.
Scripture Proofs — King James Version
Matthew 28:19
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.”
2 Corinthians 13:14
“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.”
John 1:1
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
John 10:30
“I and my Father are one.”
Acts 5:3–4
“But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.”

Why do you think God tells us about the Trinity even though we cannot fully understand it?
Illustration
There is no perfect comparison for the Trinity in the world around us. Every comparison breaks down and teaches something wrong. The Bible simply tells us that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are each fully God, and yet there is only one God. This is a mystery we believe because God has said it.
Application
When you pray this week, try praying to the Father, thanking the Son for saving you, and asking the Holy Spirit to help you. Because God has revealed himself as three persons, you can speak to each one.
