Q27. What was Christ's humiliation?

Christ's humiliation was being born in a lowly condition, living under the law, suffering the miseries of this life and the anger of God, dying the cursed death of the cross, being buried, and staying under the power of death for a time.

The Son of God, who made the stars, was born in a place where animals eat. He did not skip any part of human suffering. He was poor, he was rejected, he was in pain, and he died. He went all the way down to the grave.

Application

When you face something difficult or embarrassing this week, remember that Jesus willingly went through far worse for the sake of his people. Thank him that he was willing to be brought low so that you could be lifted up.
