  2. 2

What does it mean to give "false testimony" against your neighbor?

  3. 3

Can you think of a time when telling the truth was hard? What made it difficult?

Illustration

If your teacher asks who spilled the paint and you point at another student who did not do it, that is false testimony. You are using your words to make someone look guilty when they are not. God takes this very seriously because he is a God of truth.

Application

Because God always tells the truth and never lies, you can ask him to help you be truthful even when it is uncomfortable. The next time you are tempted to blame someone else for something, stop and tell the truth instead.
