What did Jesus say this commandment includes in Matthew 5:22?
Illustration
You might think this commandment does not apply to you because you have never hurt anyone that badly. But Jesus said that anger and hatred in the heart already break this commandment. Calling someone worthless or wishing harm on them is a seed of the same sin.
Application
This commandment reaches deeper than actions. It reaches into thoughts and words. Ask God to show you if there is anger or hatred in your heart toward anyone, and ask him to replace it with the love that only he can give.
