Illustration

When someone is buried, you do not expect to see them again. But Jesus was buried and came out of the grave alive. In Baptism, your old sinful self is buried with Christ. And just as he rose, you are raised to live a new kind of life. The grave could not hold Jesus, and sin cannot hold you.

Application

Read Romans 6:4 out loud together. Talk about one way your life looks different because of what God did in Baptism. Ask God this week to help you live in the newness he has given you.
