Illustration
A mirror does not make your face dirty. It just shows you the dirt that is already there. God's law works like that. It does not make you sinful. It shows you the sin that is already in your heart so you can see how much you need help.
Application
The next time you read or hear one of God's commandments and feel uncomfortable, do not run away from that feeling. Instead, tell God honestly what you see in your heart. He already knows, and he wants you to be honest with him.
