Illustration

A lifeguard does not stop waves from coming. But when a swimmer gets pulled under, the lifeguard dives in and brings them to safety. God does not promise to remove every wave of trouble, but he promises to deliver us through it and to bring us safely home in the end.

Application

The next time something scary or painful happens, pray this petition. Ask God to protect your body, your heart, and your faith. Because Jesus has already defeated evil on the cross, you can trust that no evil gets the final word.
