Does God promise to reward the good things his people do?
- 2
If the reward is not something we earn, what is it?
- 3
How does knowing that rewards are gifts of grace change the way you think about doing good?
Illustration
A father who praises his child for helping in the kitchen is not paying wages. He is delighting in his child. When God rewards the good works of his people, he is not paying what is owed. He is giving grace upon grace to children he loves.
Application
The next time you help someone or obey your parents, do it with a free heart. You are not building up a balance God owes you. You are living as a child whose Father loves to give good gifts.
