Q58. How does "the life everlasting" comfort you?

Even now I can feel in my heart the beginning of eternal joy. After this life, I will have perfect happiness — more wonderful than anything anyone has ever seen, heard, or imagined — and I will praise God forever.

Illustration

The first warm day after a long winter gives you a taste of summer, even though summer has not arrived yet. The joy you feel in knowing God now is a small taste of the endless happiness that is coming. The best is still ahead.

Application

Pay attention this week to moments of joy in worship, prayer, or fellowship. Thank God that these are only the beginning. Ask him to make you long for the day when you will praise him forever.
