Lord’s Day 7
Q19. How do you know this?
From the holy gospel. God first shared this good news in the Garden of Eden. Later, he had it announced by the fathers of the faith and the prophets, and pictured by the sacrifices and ceremonies of the Old Testament law. Finally, he made it come true through his only Son.

Illustration
Sometimes before a big family event, your parents drop hints for weeks. They mention a trip, buy new clothes, pack snacks. All those clues point to the same event. From the Garden of Eden through the prophets and the sacrifices, God kept dropping hints that a Savior was coming. Then Jesus arrived, and all the hints made sense.
Application
The next time your family reads the Old Testament together, look for hints about Jesus. Ask God to help you see how the whole Bible points to the Savior he promised from the very beginning.
